The exclusive Retreat at Tasmania’s Pumphouse Point offers a true feast for the senses.
Tasmania was made for days like this. The air is crisp but the earlier rain has cleared, the lingering moisture amping up the citrus aromas drifting from the native forest. It is a little too cold to sit outside and watch the reflections of passing clouds drift over the lake surface, but that’s just fine: my private perch overlooking the lake is equipped with a crackling fire and floor-to-ceiling windows. The only thing missing is a warming bottle of Tasmanian pinot.
