Musician, conductor, stand-up comic, chess player, mentor, cyclist, world traveller … Peter Godkin finds time for so much more than law outside his busy career, writes TIA SINGH.
Peter Godkin was 12 when he saw Gough Whitlam don his wig and gown in the early 1970s. It was at that moment he knew he wanted to be a barrister. In 1982, fresh out of Northmead Creative and Performing Arts High School, he started a law degree at the University of Sydney. He hated it. “It was one talking head and 600 students,” he recalls. “I was really bored by it.”
