Disruption may be the hero of the innovation economy, but for the rest of us it can be a negative force. Cubicle walls are coming down; open offices are the new norm. Coupled with the chorus of ever-beeping electronic devices, interruptions are a pervasive aspect of modern work life.
While there’s no doubt disruption is a powerful stimulus for change, at a personal level these distractions take their toll on work accuracy, concentration, safety and even strategic decisions.
